Know where your month went. No budget, no bank.
Log an expense in seconds at the till. Depensia shows you the month’s total, what changed since last month, and which category it went to. Free, on the web and on your iPhone.
Free. No card, no bank connection.
“So that’s where it went.”
I used to reach the 20th wondering where my salary had gone. Now I open Depensia and it’s right there: restaurants, nearly every time.
Camille Nurse, paid on the 28th
I quit two budgeting apps that wanted my bank login. This one just asked how much I’d spent, and I could answer it at the till.
Tom Junior architect, commutes by train
No budget to set up, no categories to invent. After a month I finally knew where the money goes.
Inès Freelance translator, paid monthly
Payday, then the 20th, then the question: where did it go?
Budgeting apps answer a question you didn’t ask.
You’re paid once a month, and by the end of it the money is gone. Not on anything big. On a hundred small things you’d recognise if you saw them listed.
So you tried an app. It asked you to set a budget for every category, invent the categories first, or hand over your bank login before it showed you a single thing. You stopped in a week.
Depensia skips all of that. You log what you spend, and it tells you where the month went.
Three steps, and the first takes seconds.
Nothing to set up before your first expense.
Log an expense
Amount, category, done. The date is already today, and the note is optional. One hand, at the till.
See it on your dashboard
It’s counted straight away in the month’s total and in its category, on the web and on your iPhone.
Check back whenever
Tonight on your laptop or on the 30th on your phone: the month is there, compared with the one before.
Everything on one screen, the total first.
Each one is the real screen, with a real month in it.
The month in one number
See how much you’ve spent this month, and whether it’s more or less than last month, before anything else.
Below the total: the change in euros and in percent, how many expenses, and how much a day.
Where it went
Find the category that ate the month at a glance.
A ring split by category, and beside it each category with its amount and share, biggest first. Categories you didn’t spend on stay out of the way.
Last six months, side by side
Know if this month is unusual or just how months are.
One bar per month, oldest on the left, the month you’re looking at picked out. A month you didn’t log stays visible as an empty bar.
Every expense, newest first
Check that the coffee you logged at lunch is counted.
Your five latest expenses on the dashboard, and the whole month one tap away, where you can edit or delete any of them.
Look back without losing your place
Step back to September and both the dashboard and the list follow.
Pick a month once; it stays picked as you move between screens.
Log it on your phone. Read it on your laptop.
The same account and the same expenses on the web and on the iPhone.
Add a grocery shop at the till on your iPhone. That evening, open Depensia in your browser and it’s in the month’s total and in the Groceries share. Refresh, and both screens show the same figures.
Your spending stays yours.
No bank connection
Depensia never asks for your bank login. You add what you spend, and that’s all it knows.
Only you see your expenses
Each account sees its own expenses and no one else’s.
No ads
No adverts in the app and no ad trackers on the site.
Free. That’s the whole price list.
No card, no trial, no paid tier.
Every feature on this page is included for everyone: the dashboard, the full list, the web and the iPhone.

Is Depensia really free?
Yes. There’s no card to enter, no trial that runs out and no paid tier.
Do I need to connect my bank?
No. Depensia never connects to your bank. You add each expense yourself, in a few seconds.
Which devices does it work on?
In a web browser, on a computer or a phone, and on the iPhone. One account works on both, with the same expenses. There’s no Android app.
Can I change the categories?
No, and that’s on purpose. There are seven, already chosen: Groceries, Restaurants, Transport, Housing, Health, Leisure and Other. Nothing to set up before your first expense.
Which currencies does it support?
Euros only. Every amount is in euros, to the cent.
